Biography
Grant F. Winthrop and his wife, Hope, had three daughters attend Nightingale: Elizabeth '97, Fernanda, and Charlotte. He was nominated to Nightingale's Board of Directors in Fall 1986, later serving as Chairman. Professionally, Winthrop started as a newspaper reporter and freelance writer in San Francisco before moving to the editorial staff of Fortune magazine from 1977 to 1981. He later worked as a private investor and a director of Wood, Struthers & Winthrop Management Corporation and of the Groton Land Co., Inc.
