Biography
Evelyn Plump joined the music faculty at Nightingale in 1972, although she previously played piano accompaniment for Miss Zahn, Nightingale's dance teacher. In addition to teaching Lower and Middle School music, Mrs. Plump (known as Mrs. Hixson from the early 1980s on) compiled a Nightingale hymnal in 1988-89 to use at Prayers and assemblies. Mrs. Hixson retired c. 2007.
she was educated at Barnard College and Columbia University.
Her two daughters, Susan Plump '79 and Jenifer Plump '78A, attended Nightingale.
