Biography

Before joining Nightingale as a librarian in fall 1971, Edith Hazen attended Hunter College, worked ten years as an editor at Columbia University Press, and helped found a children's library. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Hazen advised the Curriculum Committee and utilized her editing skills on school newsletter publications. She departed in 1988 before school renovations began, making Mrs. Hazen an honorary alumna for her 10+ years of teaching at Nightingale.

Mrs. Hazen had one son. Her husband was a professor of English at Columbia.
