Biography

Helen Saterlee taught Middle and Upper School mathematics at Nightingale in the 1960s. She was educated at the University of South Carolina and Columbia University and taught at New Jersey public schools and Dwight School before coming to Nightingale in fall 1961. She took a brief leave of absence to care for her husband after the 1967-68 school year, returning in fall 1969. In addition to serving as head of the mathematics department, Ms. Satterlee was a Class X advisor and Junior class advisor. Students dedicated the 1969 Yearbook to her. She moved back to South Carolina after the 1969-70 academic year.
