Biography

Miss Anita Zahn taught dance at Nightingale from c. 1949 to c. 1969. Miss Zahn was born in Germany and emigrated to New York in the early 1920s. She taught dance at several schools, in addition to Nightingale, over the course of her life. In 1995, the Isadora Duncan International Institute created the Anita Zahn Award for the Education of the Child to be awarded to teachers of the Duncan technique.
