S04 Student Clubs and Committees, c. 1930 - 2014

 Series
Identifier: RG06_SG005_S04

Scope and Contents

Student Clubs and Committees is comprised of student groups that are not related to student government. These are typically student-created and student-led groups that may include a Professional Community member as an advisor. Because student interests change, most of these clubs exist for only a short time, such as Sewing Club, while clubs with more broad subject matter endure or reappear over the years, such as Art Club.

This series is divided into three sub-series: Social Service Committee, Cultural Awareness for Everyone (C.A.F.E.), and Other Clubs and Committees.

Some groups now known as "Boards" are part of student government, but originated as clubs, such as Social Service Committee and Committee of the Arts. Their records/photographs may be found in this series and in the Student Government series. Records regarding the House system are included in this series, as are group photographs of peer leaders, Yearbook boards, and student publication staff members.

For Drama Club photographs, see the Academics Record Group - Arts Records sub-group - Drama Records series.
