Records relating to Board of Trustees meeting, 1992 Apr 14
Scope and Contents
The Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes series includes meeting notices and minutes of regular, annual, and special meetings of the Nightingale-Bamford School Board of Trustees and Miss Nightingale's School, its predecessor. Meeting minutes through 1977 are compiled into seven bound volumes chronologically, although some may also be available loosely. These compilations may additionally contain records related to Board meetings and school governance, such as agreements, charters, and bylaws.
Also included in this series are records related to Board meetings, such as agendas, reports, correspondence, resolutions, budgets, attendance records, memoranda, and other records relied upon by Board members to inform their duties.
1990s through 2002 - Board minutes generally include the Head of School's report, which consists of a summary of the daily management of the school and may include subjects such as school events, athletic, arts, and academic accomplishments, exchange program updates, faculty matters, discipline, NYSAIS evaluations, strategic planning, and the head of school's goals, among others. Minutes also include reports from the various committees, the Admissions Department, the Board President, the Alumnae Association President, and the Parents Association President. Meetings may additionally include community members, such as the technology department head, specific academic department heads, the school's college advisor, division heads, or students, to give a report to the Trustees on a specific topic. Examples of such reports include a report on the Upper School, a math curriculum report, a report on financial aid, and a report from student leaders on diversity.
