Scope Note: Hobbyhorse began in the 1979-80 academic year as an after-school program for Lower School students, by Susie Heller '69. It was designed to meet the needs of both children and the increasing number of working mothers (approximately 40% in the Lower School at the time Hobbyhorse was created). Workshops such as drama, baking, puppetry, gymnastics, woodworking, and other activities are offered to reinforce skills learned in the classroom.

Scope and Contents From the Record Group:

The Extracurricular Programs Record Group is comprised of records related to programs offered through the Nightingale-Bamford School outside of the regular school-year curriculum. These include after-school programs such as Hobbyhorse, summer enrichment, and Sunny Days summer camp. Records related to Interschool activities are also included.
