Scope Note: Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society is an association of secondary school chapters that honors scholastic achievement. Each chapter consists of a geographical district under the supervision of a District Regent. Nightingale's head of school, Dorothy Hutcheson, served as a District III Regent from 1990 to 2005 and as Secretary General from 2002 to 2005. A limited number of students from each chapter are honored by the Cum Laude Society annually.
