Biographical Note
Jill Krementz is an author, photographer and photojournalist. She has published over thirty books, mostly children's books and photography books. She has worked for the New York Herald-Tribune, extensively photographed authors, and exhibited in New York City galleries. Ms. Krementz is the widow of Kurt Vonnegut, the author. They are parents of Lily Vonnegut, who attended Nightingale. During Lily's Nightingale years, Ms. Krementz took photographs of student life at the school. Many of her signed photographs are included in the Nightingale-Bamford School Archives.

This series consists mainly of photographs and programs. with some sound recordings and video recordings associated with Morning Meetings (and its predecessor, Prayers), assemblies, assembly speakers and performances, and other guest speakers hosted by the school. Speakers appearing in this series' photographs include actors and filmmakers, authors, writers, media commentators, activists, psychiatrists and psychologists, and politicians. Commencement Photographs consists of photographs taken during the school's Commencement ceremony, at which Class XII students graduate from Upper School, as well as photographs taken directly before and after the ceremony of students, their families, and faculty. There are some photographs of guest commencement speakers and student class speakers, and some years include individual portraits of graduates.
