Scope and Contents
The Basic Educational Data System, Report of Nonpublic Schools and Schools Operated by State or Other Public Agencies, collects data about such schools. The form is completed by each school and submitted to the New York State Education Department.
Data may include numbers of employees, number enrolled and race of students by grade level, video resources used at the school, number of dropouts, diploma requirements, school food programs, available computer/technology and library resources, distance learning activities, numbers with limited English proficiency, percentage of students on public welfare, type of school, multi-national activities, foreign languages offered, accreditation status, AIDS/HIV education offered, environmental educationand distribution of graduates.
