Biographical / Historical
The 1929 yearbook includes the first mention of cheerleaders at Nightingale. That year, the Athletic Board chose five cheer leaders to run a song and cheer contest and teach the winning entries to all students.
The late 1950s/1960s yearbooks include group photographs of cheerleaders (see 1958 p. 56; 1962 p. 78; 1969 p. 74). The 1964 yearbook includes cheerleading as an activity on the senior pages for those that participated.
