Scope and Contents
The Social Service Committee sub-series includes group portraits of club members, some photographs and records of club activities and special awards, and a school pin that belonged to Audrey Goode '39 when she served as Social Service Committee Chairman. This sub-series also includes records pertaining to Foster Parents' Plan for War Children, through which the Committee supported several European children and their families that were adversely affected by World War II, including letters and photos from the children. There are also records of the English Now program hosted at Nightingale, where older students volunteered in summers to teach English to foreign students, including a commemorative history of the program created in 1982.
