Scope and Contents

Includes articles and photographs of various faculty and staff, from Frost Valley trip, of students playing in front of schoolhouse, Chinese New Year, Career Day, annual fund update, photograph of alumnae and their daughters 1980-81, and Class notes. A list of Alumnae Board members is located inside the front cover.

Special Collections encompasses materials relevant to Nightingale, its history, people, and/or mission, but were not created in the ordinary course of Nightingale's business or were donated items significant enough to constitute their own collection. These records do not generally fall into the other record groups' scope.

Scope and Contents From the Sub-Series: The Social Service Committee sub-series includes group portraits of club members, some photographs and records of club activities and special awards, and a school pin that belonged to Audrey Goode '39 when she served as Social Service Committee Chairman. This sub-series also includes records pertaining to Foster Parents' Plan for War Children, through which the Committee supported several European children and their families that were adversely affected by World War II, including letters and...

As early as the 1970s, Class XII students have had the option to create an Independent Study Project (also called an Independent Senior Project, or ISP). Students select a subject of their choice, the parameters of the project, and how their learning will be exhibited, whether it be a final essay, analysis, play, artistic creation, or combination of these things. Presentations are given in the spring.
