Scope and Contents From the Sub-Group: Athletics records are comprised mostly of photographs of students practicing or competing in specific sports, although there are some more general athletic photographs, including physical education classes. Scope and Contents From the Record Group:

The Student Life Record Group consists of records related to Nightingale students that evidence student life at the school outside of classroom academics. Included are yearbooks, student publications, athletics records, admissions department records, college advising records, records of student clubs and committees, student governance records, diversity and community life, records regarding the brief boarding school at Nightingale, and records of student support/counseling offerings.

As early as the 1970s, Class XII students have had the option to create an Independent Study Project (also called an Independent Senior Project, or ISP). Students select a subject of their choice, the parameters of the project, and how their learning will be exhibited, whether it be a final essay, analysis, play, artistic creation, or combination of these things. Presentations are given in the spring.

Scope and Contents From the Series: Commencement Records include commencement ceremony invitations, programs, scripts, and transcriptions of speeches given. Each year, a commencement guest speaker is invited to deliver words of wisdom and inspiration to the graduating senior students; correspondence with prospective guest speakers and the speaker's biographical information and or curriculum vitae may be in this record series. This series consists of video recordings of Nightingale-Bamford School Commencement ceremonies for most years after 1985. There is one sound recording of the commencement ceremony in 1986, and one senior slideshow video created for the Class of 2009.

Scope and Contents From the Series: The Drama Records series includes playbills / programs, photographs, and video recordings of dramatic theater performances and classes featuring Nightingale students. Group portraits of Canterbury Club are in Student Life / "Clubs" series. Because it is difficult to ascertain whether a dramatic production is presented by a club, alumnae association, or Interschool, most drama records and photographs are found in this series, although those with an identified entity may be included in that...
